Registration

Starting in November 2019, West Van Little League will be using Teamsnap for registration. Most returning players will already have a profile in Teamsnap that can be used to start the registration process. If you are new to Teamsnap, you will need to set up an account for your player. As this is the first year using Teamsnap for registration, there may be some implementation issues. If you have questions or concerns, please contact registrar@westvanll.ca

Photo Policy

WVLL uses social media and this website to share information throughout the year and to build a sense of community. We frequently take photos at our baseball events. We take care with photos taken and do not post player’s names with photos. Please email registrar@westvanll.ca if you’d prefer no photos of your child be used.

Regular Season

The Regular Season runs from April to mid-June. Registration for the 2020 Regular Season opened on November 15, 2019 and will run to February 17, 2020. Registration is based on baseball age based on the Little League guidelines.

If you are registering more than one child, when registering the second or more child, click the “additional children” button on the registration form to receive a discount on the second, third or fourth child’s registration.

Refund Policy

Refunds (less a $25 administration fee) will be issued for cancelled registrations received before February 29, 2020. Registrations cancelled in March 2020 will receive a refund of 50% of the registration fees. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after March 31, 2020.

Each division will also have extra development options during the season, organized by division (no extra charge).

Juniors – Ages 13-14

In 2020, WVLL is pleased to offer two junior programs. Both programs will be based at beautiful Ambleside Park in West Vancouver. Games will be held on the 80 foot diamonds with practices taking place on both the North and South diamonds.

Juniors Tier One

The tier one (T1) program is for players that are able and want to make a greater commitment to baseball. This team will be on field 50 days in a 90 day window which includes practices and games. A commitment of 90% attendance is required from all players. The tier one program will compete in a league made up from teams from Coquitlam, New West, South Van, Langley and Whalley. Travel off the North Shore for league games will be primarily on weekends. Tournaments may require weekday travel depending upon scheduling. WVLL anticipates that we will play in at least one tournament.

Juniors Tier Two

The tier two (T2) program will compete in a North Shore league with teams from Mount Seymour, Lynn Valley and Highlands Little League junior teams. In 2019, there were 7 teams in the league and based on the 2019 season, this team will likely play a 20 game schedule including playoffs.

Registration for Juniors Tier 2 is now closed for 2020.

Player Evaluations

We try our best to assign players to Divisions and Teams which the League feels is best for the player. We take into account past playing experiences, parents’ input, and annual Player Evaluations. Please note that evaluations only apply to players for Minors and Majors divisions. The dates for 2020 WVLL Player Evaluations are:

Wednesday, February 19th at West Bay Elementary School

– 7pm to 8pm – 7-9 yrs old (only 7s that have 1 yr playing Farm and would like to play Minor B)

– 8pm to 9pm – 10 – 12 yrs old (only 12s that have not played in WVLL)

Sunday, February 23rd at Rockridge High School

– 2pm to 4pm – 7-9 yrs old (only 7s that have 1 yr playing Farm and would like to play Minor B)

– 4pm to 6pm – 10 -12 yrs old (only 12s that have not played in WVLL)

Evaluations 2020 Registration

Postseason

Postseason play typically runs from mid-June into July, culminating in the Little League World Series in late August.

West Van competes in the North Shore D5 Little League with Highlands, Lynn Valley and Mount Seymour with our 9/10 and 11/12 Allstar teams. We also have postseason Select 8, Select 9 and Select 11 teams that play post-season tournaments.

Registration for Postseason is typically opened in early-mid June.

Summer Ball

Summer ball is a fun league that runs in July and August. This is usually less competitive than the Postseason teams, and gives players a chance to develop skills in a fun environment, playing against teams from the other North Shore Little Leagues.

Registration for Summer Ball is typically opened in mid June.

Fall Ball

Fall ball is a fun league that runs in September and October. This is for players who just haven’t had enough baseball and don’t mind getting a little wet when the weather turns. We play against teams from the other North Shore Little Leagues, and sometimes teams from beyond the North Shore.

Registration for Fall Ball is typically opened in August.
