If you’ve done this before, you probably already know whether your birthdate matches an existing criminal record and fingerprinting is thus required to prove that record is not you. If you have used the CRRP system for other youth organizations, you can elect to submit that check including fingerprint clearance, straight to WVLL. Otherwise, you will receive a letter from CRRP directing you to take the further step of submitting fingerprints.
Bowen Island and Lions Bay residents go to Squamish RCMP front counter for free online service (it’s no longer necessary to go to Whistler since Squamish is now online too; M-F 8:30 – 4:40, take the letter with you and maybe call 604.892.6100 to check details).
West Van residents go to WVPD at 755 16th Street. Appointments are required – call the Records Office at 604-925-7300 to make an appointment. Take the letter, pay the $55.00 charge, and submit the receipt to treasurer@westvanll.ca for reimbursement.
Depending on the reason for sending fingerprints to Ottawa, there may be an additional $25 processing fee payable to the RCMP. West Vancouver Police will collect this fee on the RCMP’s behalf. If this fee is charged, submit the receipt to treasurer@westvanll.ca for reimbursement.
For more information about this fee please visit the RCMP website at:
