We encourage our players to learn more about the game and to gain work experience (and make a little money) through umpiring games for lower divisions.

West Van Little League provides training for umpires before the season and support through the season. Umpires are needed for regular season games, summer ball and fall ball.

The scheduling of umpires is straightforward. Players make themselves available to umpire on specific dates on Assignr and they receive notifications of game assignments by email or text.

Umpire rates are updated annually but typically pay from $30 to $45 depending on the level and the responsibility (plate vs. base ump). Payments are made semi-monthly by Interac transfer throughout the season.
