About Eric Fox

With nearly 30 years in professional baseball as a player and coach, Eric Fox brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table when working with young athletes.

After completing his high school education, Eric received the opportunity to pursue his post secondary education and play baseball at Fresno State University in Fresno, California. During that time, Eric was selected in three different Major League Baseball (MLB) Drafts. He was selected in the 22nd round of the 1984 draft by the Toronto Blue Jays, then reselected in the 1985 draft by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 13th round. It wasn’t until the 1986 January phase of the MLB draft that Eric was selected in the 1st round by the Seattle Mariners where he made the decision to turn professional.

Three of the four seasons Eric spent at the MLB level was with the Oakland A’s. He also spent a season with the Texas Rangers. Eric may be familiar to Toronto Blue Jays fans as it was in the 1992 ALCS where Roberto Alomar gunned down Fox at the plate late in game 4 to send the game to extra innings. Toronto later won that game and went on to win the series paving their way to the first Canadian team to win a World Series Championship. It was a turning point in the series and something that will be remembered in Canadian Baseball history.
