Equipment and Uniforms

What’s included:

Each team is supplied with jerseys, hats, several bats, and catching equipment.  Players are generally responsible for gloves, baseball pants, socks, belts and cleats. Players may also bring their own bats.

Choosing a Glove

Little League rules stipulate that the maximum size glove that may be worn by a player is 12″. Glove sizes are normally marked on gloves for easy reference. Glove size may also be measured as the distance from the top of the index finger to the base of the palm of the glove.

Youth baseball gloves should be chosen carefully – a common mistake is to buy a big glove for a little kid. This often results in a younger child with a huge glove on their hand that they can’t even close. Youth sizes range from 9″-12″. 8 year olds can often use 11″ gloves, while 11-12 year olds often may fit into 12″ gloves.

Choosing a Bat

Height and weight are usually better ways to determine what bat length may work best for you.  Use the height and weight chart to give you a general idea of the length of bat that fits your body.
